Description

Located on the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon, Jacob Lake Campground is lined by single and large group campsites, all just a curb-check off the main access route to the Northern Rim. Campsites are nestled among the towering Ponderosa Pine trees, and nearby trails offer adventurous hiking and mountain biking trails. Oh, and there also happens to be a beautiful lake right beside the campground!

I've camped here twice and the facilities are very clean but the campsites are tight together. The camp hosts are so sweet and amazing! The gas station and diner across the way are nice if you're missing a few small items or for coffee but it's expensive and not well stocked.

Convenient, safe, and well maintained forest service site. Water spigot and bathroom. Across the street from the shop where we got our car looked at.

Great place to camp in the summer as nights are cool due to high elevation. The Bathrooms were very clean, and we felt the campsites were fairly average when it came to spacing (not to close together, but then again not very private). Big trucks & cars drive along the road by the campsite all night/day so it can be noisy-try to get a spot on the opposite side of the entrance to avoid this. About an 1hr. away from the North Rim & is a pretty, scenic drive.

Jacob Lake CG had clean facilities and a very attentive host. Don't expect much privacy though... The sites are pretty scrunched together and it's located right next to a loud, busy road. There's a gas station and diner within walking distance if that's your thing (diner food was meh...). All in all it was a perfectly fine place to spend the night, but didn't offer much else aside from its close proximity to the Grand Canyon North Rim. (tent camping // one night // october)
